LUCIA SCHOEP

Lucia Mae Schoep, 80, of Sioux City, died unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 22, 1994, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in the Royal City Cemetery, Royal, Neb., with the Rev. Cindi Lane, pastor of the Royal United Methodist church officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schoep was born April 29, 1914, in Royal, Neb., the daughter of Charles and Maude (Clark) Dawson. She attended public schools in the Royal and Chicago, Ill., area. She moved to Chicago in 1925 and lived there until the early 1940s. In the mid-forties, she married Alfred P. Schrank and they made their home in Iowa. He died in 1952. She married John Schoep in 1959, and they lived in the LeMars, Iowa, area until his death in October of 1985. She then moved to Sioux City.

Mrs. Schoep worked in sewing shops for several years and during World War II she worked in a foundry where airplane parts were manufactured. She enjoyed dancing, sewing and reupholstering furniture.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Alan and EvaDean Schrank of Sioux City; four stepchildren, Arden Schoep of Nevada, Iowa, Cary Schoep of Kingsley, Iowa, Maryann Hansen, of LeMars, Iowa, and Erla Beth Roder of Langdon, N.D.; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Schrank; two grandsons; four brothers, and two sisters.
