R.D. "Babe" Clark

R.D. "Babe" Clark, 92, of Akron, Iowa, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at his residence following a brief illness. Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at 11 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, with military graveside rites conducted by Hoschler American Legion Post #186 of Akron with Reverend Justin May, pastor of First Church of Christ, Akron, officiating.

Mr. Clark was born on January 11, 1907 in Union County, South Dakota, the son of Eugene Wesley and Nellie (Davis) Clark. He married Dorothy Wilms in Dakota City, Neb., on April 12, 1958. She died on March 18,1989. He served in the United State Army-Air Corps from 1941 to 1945. He was the city clerk in Akron for 25 years retiring in 1971. Mr. Clark enjoyed reading, drawing, and building things.

He is survived by a special friend, Bebe Smith and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
