Henry Hillrichs Jr., 73, Craig, died Thursday at Floyd Valley Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Craig St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. O. K. Anderson officiating. Casket bearers were: Raymond Barinsky, Walter Westergard, John Barinsky, Jr., Kenneth Hillrichs, Gary Hillrichs and Fred Westergard. Burial was in the church cemetery, under the direction of the Schroeder funeral home. A prayer service was held Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Hillrichs was born February 4, 1898, in Plymouth County. He married Kathryn Westergard May 24, 1923, in Sioux county. The couple farmed in Preston Township until retiring to Craig in 1954. He was baptized, confirmed and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Craig. He was a member of the Brotherhood and the church council.

Mr. Hillrichs was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Darlene, a sister and four brothers.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Robert of Akron, Lowell of Hawarden and Donald of Fremont, Neb.; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Stevens of Centerville, SD; two brothers, Ben and Harry, both of Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Mina Peters of Akron and Mrs. Andrew Andresen of Hawarden and seven grandchildren.
