Albert Anderson died at the Akron Hospital last Sunday evening, February 1, following an illness of several years duration. He was 69 years of age..

Albert Reuben Anderson was born in Le Mars, Iowa, November 9, 1900. During infancy he was baptized into membership of Union Creek Lutheran Church. Mr. Anderson grew up and lived nearly all of his life in Union County, South Dakota. He became a confirmed member of his church June 30, 1918, and continued as an active member there during all his life. He served his church in every way that he could. He was a member of the Board of Administration for many terms and served as Union Creek Treasurer quite a number of years. He served as contact man between the church, board and the tenant of the church acreage. He served on the remodeling committee during -the time that the Union Creek parlors were completely remodeled.

On February 22, 1922, at a marriage service in Union Creek Church he was united in marriage to Miss Elsie Ericson. They lived on. the Albert Anderson farm northwest of Akron until 1964 when they moved to their present home in Akron. Mr. Anderson served many terms on the Union Creek cemetery board and did his part in keeping this cemetery a lovely, well-kept burial place. Albert was well known throughout this community as a friendly, hard-working, progressive farmer who was willing to do whatever he could to make his community a finer place in which to live.

Among those who survive to mourn his departure are: his wife, Elsie; his two daughters, Mrs. Lois Helseth and Mrs. Bernice Miller; his six. grandchildren, other, relatives and friends.

The funeral service in his memory was held at Union Creek Church Wednesday afternoon, February 4, with Pastor David J. Roy officiating. "Beyond the Sunset" sung by Lloyd Helseth, and "Living: For Jesus" sung by Cathy and Cindy Miller were accompanied by Linette Helseth. Mrs. Henry Fickbohm was organist Henry Fickbohm, Lloyd Fickbohm, Merle Fickbohm, Walfrid Forslund, Lewis Helseth and Clifford King were honorary casket bearers, while Oscar A. Anderson, Duane Forslund, Dennis Hultgren, Clifford Miller, Gorman Nygard and Gary Pefferman were active bearers. Interment was in Union Creek Cemetery.
