Walter Steffen Rites To Be Held Friday.
Funeral services for Walter M. Steffen, 58, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. Mr. Steffen passed away Tuesday night at the Sacred Heart hospital in Le Mars.
Walter Martin Steffen was born December 9, 1900 on a farm in Henry township. Mr. Steffen lived his entire life and farmed here until his retirement several months ago. Mr. Steffen never married. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Friederike Steffen, and one sister.
Services. Last rites will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church here. Rev. Alfred Christiansen will officiate. Friends may pay their respects at the Moeller funeral home Thursday afternoon and evening. The body will be taken to the church Friday at 11:30.
Survivors. Surviving Mr. Steffen are Mrs. Mary Kohnke, Fred, Elmer and Carl Steffen, all of Remsen; Mrs. Pauline Jensen of Baltimore and Mrs. Dora Johnston of Remsen, half-sisters; and Ella McKinley of Manhatten, Kansas.
Pallbearers. The pallbearers are: Orville Steffen, Ray Steffen, Vernon Steffen, Harold Letsche, Everald Steffen, Marcel Beelner.
