Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the family home and at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church at Merrill for Frank H. Rath, 74, longtime Merrill contractor and carpenter.
Rev. E. E. Senst officated. Burial was in Hillside cemetery under direction of Luken's funeral home. Pall bearers were Herbert Boettger, Elmer Boettger, Walter Boehm, Donald Boehm, Harold Moore and Harvey Miller.
Mr. Rath died Saturday, June 28, 1958, at his home afer suffering a heart attack. He was a Merrill resident the last 26 years.
Born in Germany on May 26, 1884, he came to the United States at the age of five years. His mariage to Sophia Boehm took place Nov. 5, 1913, at Dennison.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Elizabeth) Grey of Merrill, Mrs. Carol (Violet) Vollbrecht of Waterville, Minn., Mrs. Raymond (Lucille) Wieck of Sioux City, and Mrs. Harold (Florence) Knoop of Drakesville, and two sons, Harry of Merrill and Harold of New York City.
Also surviving are four half brothers, Henry, John, Martin, and Adolph Wendt, all of Dennison; 20 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a half sister.
