Obituary

James A. [Arthur (Art)] Dixon
James A. Dixon, 69, Hinton, was dead on arrival at a Sioux City hospital Wednesday, Aug. 11, after he was apparently stricken with a heart attack at Ponca, Neb.

Funeral services were at 9 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Catholic church, Merrill. Rev. James Fangman officiated and burial was in Calvary cemetery, Sioux City. The Larkin funeral home was in charge.

He was bom Jan. 12,1902, in Pipestone, Minn., and was a resident of Hinton since 1924. He married Helen Graham Sept. 2, 1935, at Garretson, S.D., and worked as a carpenter and contractor before retiring.

Mr. Dixon was a member of Assumption Catholic Church Merrill, and its Holy Name Society.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Martha Jean Larson and Mrs. Mary Ann Kelley. both of Omaha; six grandchildren; five brothers, Joseph of Estherville; Frank of Fort Richey, Fla.; William of Jefferson; Vincent of Sioux City, and John of Hinton, and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Rieman of lona, Minn.; Mrs. Laura Girard of South Gate, Calif.; Mrs. Myrtle Bolen of San Miguel. Calif., and Mrs. Gladys Rush of Merrill.
