PAST 19 YEARS
A lingering sickness resulted in the death Thursday of T. D. Lyons, 700 South Linn street, in a Sioux City hospital. Mr. Lyons had been a trainman for the Sioux City Service company since 1914. He was 54 years old.Born in Pierce county, Wisconsin, July 27, 1879, Mr. Lyons came to Sioux City with his parents [Alphian David Lyons and Therissey Jane Bennett] at the age of 6, and soon afterwards moved with them to Akron, where he attended the public schools. He attended Morningside college after completing high school.
On October 28, 1903, he was married to Miss Elizabeth Tucker, at Elk Point, S. D, They moved back to Sioux City in 1914. He was a member of the First Methodist church of Akron and Freedom lodge, A. F. and A. M., at Akron.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Earl D. Lyons, of Sioux City; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Murnan, of Holstein, and Mrs. Grace Hill and Mrs. Lois Cutler, of Sioux City; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Lyons, of Richland, S. D.; a brother, G. L. Lyons, of Sioux City,
two sisters, Mrs. Perry McCorkell, of Westfield, and Mrs. Blanche Erickson, of Richland, and two grandchildren.Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Christy's undertaking parlors. Burial was in Graceland Park cemetery. Dr. H. G. Campbell, of Morningside college, officiated.
