Albert Lundgren Dies At Hospital

Albert Lundgren, 87, longtime LeMars and Seney area resident, died Thursday morning at Floyd Valley hospital after a brief illness. He was taken to the hospital Dec. 31.

Mr. Lundgren was born Aug. 23, 1880, near Rock Island, Ill. He moved in 1888 to Worthington, Minn., and lied there until 1901, when he moved to Fredonia township, Plymouth County, where he has since lived.

His marriage to Grace Elizabeth Baldwin took place June 25, 1903, in Fredonia township. His parents were the late Gustav R. and Mathilda (Peterson) Lundgren.

He was a member of Giblem lodge 322, AFAM Masonic Lodge, LeMars, and was formerly active in the Farm Bureau. Mr. Lundgren was a former member of the school board in Fredonia township and a current member of the Fredonia township election board.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Mauer funeral chapel, with Rev. Milo Morris officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors are two sons, Robert and Allen, both of route 5, LeMars and a daughter, Mrs. William (Gladys) Harms, of LeMars; four grandchildren, Dennis, Jeannie, Sharon and Larry; three great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Arthur of Moline, Ill., Elmer of Worthington, and George, LeMars.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1963; two sons; a granddaughter and a great grandchild; two sisters, Emma and Tillie and two brothers, Charles and William.
