After suffering of nearly seven years duration from dropsy, death came to relieve Mrs. Peter Erichsen, on Monday, November 16. Decedent, Margaretha Dorothea, nee Rhode, was born in Petersfeldt, district Barne, Angeln, Schleswig Holstein, Germany, on the 17th day of April 1864. About 24 years ago she came with her parents to Toledo, Iowa, and soon thereafter she learned to know and love Peter Erichsen with whom she joined hands at the alter in Toledo. One child, a daughter, came to bless the union, and she with her father to mourn the loss of a faithful and true companion. Mr. and Mrs. Erichsen came to Plymouth county 21 years ago, were prosperous and lived happily until Mrs. Erichsen became afflicted with dropsy about eight years ago. - Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Nov. 24, 1908, page 2.
