Miss Maud Spicer, the young lady who taught school number four in Marion township died of lung fever at the farm house of John Deviche about one o’clock a.m., February 12, at the age of 22 years and 11 months. Miss Spicer was a perfect lady and an able teacher and many are those who mourn her early demise. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Monday, Feb. 17, 1896, page 4

Notice is hereby given to all persons interested that on the 13th day of March, 1896, the undersigned was appointed by the district court of Plymouth county, Iowa, administratrix of the estate of Maud Spicer, deceased, late of said county. All persons indebted to said estate will make payment to the undersigned and those having claims against the same will present them legally authenticated to said court for allowance.
