Mrs. Mary Rosburg, 94, former Remsen woman who left Remsen three years ago to make her home with her son Louis and family at Garretson, S.D., died there Tuesday.
Mrs. Rosburg, in failing health for nearly two years, was up and about until two weeks ago when she became a bed patient in her son’s home.
She was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, October 26, 1856, and came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sagner, at the age of 13 years. The family settled at Newhall, Benton county, Iowa.
She married Charles Rosburg at Newhall and the couple came to Remsen in 1884. They farmed here many years, retired to Remsen, where Mr. Rosburg died in 1921.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter: Louis of Garretsen, Gus of Remsen and Mrs. Fred (Ella) Erdmann of Luverne, Minn.
The body will be at the Fisch funeral home Friday. Funeral services were conducted there at 1:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon by the Rev. Paul Wuebben of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church, followed by church services and burial in the Remsen cemetery. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Feb. 13, 1951, page 1.
