Peter Petersen, 83, Sutherland, died Friday (June 9, 1972) at the Cherokee hospital.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Bethlehem Lutheran church in Royal with Rev. Russell Schilling officiating.
Burial was in the Remsen cemetery under direction of the Baumgarten funeral home of Sutherland.
Mr. Petersen was born Jan. 31, 1889, at Lunding, Denmark. He came to the United States and Newell in 1909.
He had farmed near Marcus. He married Alma Soe Feb 21, 1918, at Marcus. They moved to Sutherland in 1956. She died in 1967.
Mr. Petersen was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran church at Royal.
Survivors are three sons, Harold of Marcus, Paul and Donald, both of Sutherland and a brother, Marius of Primghar. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, June 12, 1972, page 10.
