Funeral services for Chris Laugesen, 72, farmer living with the Peter Larson family north of Oyens for the last 50 years, were held at the Moeller funeral home in Remsen last Wednesday, Rev. L. L. Belk of Le Mars officiated and burial was in the Remsen cemetery. A native of Denmark, Mr. Laugesen came to this country over 50 years ago, engaging in farming near Oyens for three years before making his home with the Peter Larson family. Note: Christen Laugesen was born November 19, 1875, Sellerup, Graverslund parish, Vejle county, Denmark. He was christened on February 5, 1876. His parents were Christen Laugesen and Anne Marie Terkelsen of Sellerup.
