Herman Holm, a resident of Remsen for 17 years, died in the Bethesda Lutheran home at Watertown, Wis., Monday morning, according to word received by relatives here Monday afternoon. He was 58 years old and a native of Benton county, Iowa. The family came to Cherokee county many years ago, farming there for a time, then moved to the vicinity of Paulina. After the death of his father, Herman and his mother came to Remsen, living in retirement. He was an epileptic sufferer for many years and it is thought he died from an epileptic seizure. Mr. Holm and his mother sold their household goods here six weeks ago, the mother going to live with a daughter, and the son entering the Lutheran home for the aged and feeble. The body arrived here Thursday and burial will take place Friday afternoon. The deceased is survived, besides his mother, by two brothers and four sisters. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, October 11, 1929, page 6.
