Mrs. B. Schluetter Dies in Sioux City.
Mrs. Bertha Schluetter, 72, a resident of Sioux City since 1941, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Schluetter was born May 31, 1883 (gravestone says 1880), in Germany. She came to Milwaukee with her parents in 1885.
She was married to Gustav Schuetter in October 1908, in Milwaukee. They moved to Remsen, and farmed in Plymouth and Sioux counties until Mr. Schluetter’s death in 1941.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Paul Zeising and Mrs. W. A. Eubank, both of Sioux City, and Mrs. Roy Riser of Norfolk, Neb.; a son Roy Schluetter of Remsen, and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday at Christ Lutheran church at Remsen. Burial was in a Remsen cemetery. – Le Mars Sentinel, Feb. 29, 1956, page 9.Note: Maiden name is found in her husband’s obit.
