LAST RITES FOR MRS. HANS BORM. Remsen Woman Passed Away At Her Home Saturday.
Mrs. Hans Borm of Remsen, died at her home south of town on Saturday after a long period of sickness, at the age of 42 years. Funeral services were held Monday in Christ Lutheran church, and burial was in the Remsen cemetery.
Mrs. Borm was a resident of the Remsen community all her life. She was born on a farm in Meadow township July 26, 1898.
Mrs. Borm is survived by her husband, and daughters, Delores and Phyllis; her brothers George and Walter Engelbrecht of Hartley, Ia., and Frank of Remsen; and her only sister, Mrs. Leonard Wevik, also of Remsen, as well as her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Engelbrecht.
Funeral services, held Monday, marked the 20th wedding anniversary of the deceased and her husband. Services were held in Christ Lutheran church, and conducted by the pastor Rev. A. Noack, with an unusually large attendance of friends from far and hear who joined the stricken family in their bereavement. – Le Mars Globe-Post, Sept. 5, 1940, page 7.

In This Vicinity Life Long Resident.
Mrs. Hans Borm, 42, well known resident of Remsen, died August 31, after a lingering illness.
Caroline Engelbrecht was born on a farm in Meadow township July 26, 1898, and lived in the vicinity all her life.
She was married to Hans Borm September 2, 1920, and they engaged in farming four miles south of Remsen on a place which is still their home.
She leaves her husband and two daughters, Delores and Phyllis, her brothers, George and Walter, of Hartley, Frank and a sister, Mrs. Leonard Wevik and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Engelbrecht of Remsen.
The funeral services were held Monday, the twentieth anniversary of her wedding day, in Christ church, Remsen, Rev. A. Noack officiating.
Among attendants at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Engelbrecht and Mrs. Hilda Charlson of Le Mars. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Sept. 6, 1940, page 1.
