Infant Girl Dead
Mr. and Mrs. John Witt are mourning the loss of their infant daughter who passed away at their home in east Orange Township, Sioux County, on last Saturday morning at six o’clock. The little one was but ten months of age, and died of broncho –pneumonia. Interment was made in the Remsen cemetery, Monday, after services were held in St. Paul church conducted by Rev. Note: There is more than one John Witt, but the parents of Verna are believed to be John and Rosa (Hansen) Witt who were living in Orange Township, Sioux County per the 1910 U.S. Census. If this is the correct family, Verna had a brother, Glenn, and a sister, Irma. Verna was born on Aril 12, 1912 and died January 25, 1913.
