Mrs. Adolph (Jessie) Witt, 83, lifetime Remsen resident, died Good Friday (April 8, 1977) at Happy Siesta retirement home, Remsen.
Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church with Rev. Julian Swanson officiating. Burial was in the Remsen city cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home.
Mrs. Witt, the former Jessie Rann, was born May 25, 1892, in Remsen to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rann. She was married April 5, 1911.
Mr. and Mrs. Witt farmed in the area for 60 years. They retired and moved to town in 1971.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter.
Survivors are her husband; a son Ray of Alcester; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry, Remsen, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Sanny, Luverne, Minn., and Mrs. Bertha Mylan, Remsen. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, April 11, 1977, page 9.
