Charles Johnson, Sr.

Vermillion, S.D. -- Special:
Funeral services for Charles H. Johnson, Sr., 72, a retired Vermillion farmer who died Wednesday at a nursing home, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist church. Rev. Walter Forred will officiate. Burial will be in Bluff View cemetery under direction of the Elmore-Wagner funeral home.

Mr. Johnson was born December 24, 1889, in Iowa. He married Catherine White February 19, 1916, at Akron, Iowa. He was a member of the First Methodist church.

Survivors are the widow, a son, Charles H. Johnson, Jr. of Meckling, S.D.; three daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Morse and Mrs. Irene Towner, both of Vermillion, and Mrs. Charlotte Meek of West Covina, Calif.; six sisters, three brothers, and nine grandchildren.

Many friends and relatives from this vicinity went to Vermillion, South Dakota. Saturday and attended the funeral of Charles Johnson Sr. a former resident of this vicinity. Mr Johnson passed away February 21 at a Nursing home in Vermillion.
