Nick Kloster Rites Planned Thursday at St. John Church

Funeral services for Nick Kloster, 66, of 114 Third St. NW will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. John American Lutheran church.

Rev. L.L. Belk will officiate and burial will be in Remsen city cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Kloster died Tuesday at Floyd Valley hospital following a lingering illness. He had been hospitalized since Jan.6.

He was born Oct. 5, 1900, in Fredonia township, Plymouth county, and was a lifelong resident. He retired from the farm in 1955.

His parents were the late Christian P. Kloster and Christian (Nielsen) Kloster. Maria Soe and Mr. Kloster were united in marriage Jan 24, 1923, in Marcus. Mr. Kloster was a member of St. John Lutheran church.

Survivors are his wife, Maria, of Le Mars; three daughters, Mrs. George (Phyllis) Krumrey and Mrs. Dwayne (Myrna) Olsen, both of Ankeny, and Mrs. Jim (Ardythe) Schultz of Le Mars; six grandchildren; two brothers, Jack of Le Mars and Harold of Remsen, and two sisters, Mrs. Tina Miller of rural Le Mars and Mrs. John (Herlig) Nielsen of Le Mars.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Clifford. – Le Mars Globe-Post, March 29, 1967, page 3.

Note: Nick and Marie (Soe) Kloster and son Clifford are buried in the Remsen Community (City) Cemetery.
