Sadness and sorrow has come to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bergholt, who reside in Fredonia township about four miles northwest of Remsen. On Wednesday, September 25, their three year old son Iver died from dyptheria and the remains of the little darling are being laid to rest this Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. I.N. Johnson are the grand parents of little Iver and them as well as the parents, we assure of our sincerest condolence. -- Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, October 3, 1901, page 3.
