Ireton services for Mr.Schuette
Ireton (special) -- January 18 - Funeral services were held for Edward A. Schuette, 82, who died at the Hawarden hospital Wednesday, January 16 following a short illness Saturday at the St. John's Lutheran church at Craig.
He was former Craig farmer and businessman, but since the death of his wife a year ago made his home with his son, Alvin at Akron.
Mr. Schuette was born on December 4, 1881, and was reared in the Ireton-Craig vicinity. In 1910 he was united in marriage with Miss Lena Eilers, who preceded him in death a year ago last November.
Surviving are a daugher Mrs. Bernice Ludwig of California and a son Alvin of Akron, one granddaugher and one great-grandchild. One brother, Mr. Fred Schuette or Ireton.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran church at Craig with the Rev. E. Schimmel in charge. Satterlee Funeral home of Ireton had charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the family plot in Pleasant HIll cemetery at Ireton. Casket bearers included Gerhard Kock, Laurence Van Whye, Lowell and Robert Hillrichs, Leland Fett, and Richard Rolfs.
