GEORGE BOTTJEN SR. OF REMSEN EXPIRES; FUNERAL SATURDAY
Funeral services for George Bottjen Sr., 79, of Remsen who died Thursday at Sacred Heart hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran church, Remsen. He had been hospitalized two days, but had been in failing health a year.
Rev. Alfred Christiansen will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery under direction of Moeller funeral home of Remsen.
Mr. Bottjen was born April 2, 1883, in Crawford county. He was a retired farmer, living in Remsen since 1946. He farmed near Moville before that time.
He married Minnie Burow on Feb. 20, 1907, at Midway, Iowa.
Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Emil Rumohr of Remsen, and Mrs. Edna Rumohr of Le Mars; seven sons, Harry of Remsen, Albert of Kingsley, Carl of Hawarden, Elzie of Moville, George Jr. of Remsen, John of Kingsley and Cecil of Sioux City, a sister, Mrs. Henry Schumann of Sand Point, Idaho and 20 grandchildren. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, June 15, 1962, page 5.
