Harold L. Jammerthal

Harold L. Jammerthal, 77, Akron, died Wednesday (Jan. 16, 1980) at his home of long illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron. The Rev. Milton Kinney officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Dwain Willer, Bob Utesch, Lloyd Willer, Jim Utesch, Jim Hawks, and Julius Willer.

Mr. Jammerthal was born Oct. 25, 1902, at Akron. He, married Gladis Lower in July 1924 in Sioux City. The couple observed their 55th wedding anniversary in 1979. He was a lifelong farmer in the Akron
area and also operated a corn shelter for 55 years, retiring in 1977.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Harold A. (Bud) of Akron; seven daughters, Mrs. Ed (Lorraine) Kiewel, Mrs. Clyde (Imogene) McKee, and Mrs. Lola Prothero, all of Akron; Mrs. Darwin (Shirley A.) Day of Luverne, Minn., Mrs. Lloyd (Darlene) Lawrence of Ireton, Mrs. Jack (Elaine) Strong of Sioux City and Mrs. James (Lois Ann) Arens of Merrill; 46 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, two daughters and a son.
