ETHEL COPPOCK BUSS

Ethel Coppock-Buss, 97, LeMars, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 1994, at Plymouth Manor Care Center.

Services are at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in LeMars with the Rev. Gordon Rhodes and the Rev. George Jennings officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery. Visitation was 2 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Buss was born Sept. 30, 1897, in LeMars, the daughter of Mike and Elizabeth (Ashton) Ferguson. She attended school in LeMars. She married Arnold J. Coppock Aug. 24, 1914, in Dakota City, Neb.

They lived in the LeMars area, except from 1927-1932 when they lived near Lake Benton, Minn. He died May 24, 1976. She married Edward D. Buss on Nov. 15, 1979. He died Aug. 15, 1986. She has resided at Plymouth Manor for the past nine years.

Mrs. Buss was a member of First Baptist Church and the Ladies Aid Society and Missionary Circle at the church. She had been a Sunday school teacher and served as leader of WWG at the church. She was an active member of the Sunshine Club.

Survivors include a sister, Ceclia Luken of Sun City, Ariz.; three grand children, Darrell Coppock of Park Ridge, Ill.; Janice Rowe of Burlington, Iowa; and Connie Dutka of Aurora, Colo.; six great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Maggie Mae Coppock of Mesa, Ariz., and Helen Kale of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, two sons Clyde and Ashton; three sisters, a brother, two half-brothers, and a half-sister.
