(July 1, 1922 - April 27, 2011)

Kingsley, Iowa – Mary E. Feeney, 88, of Kingsley, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Kingsley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley, Iowa. Father Mark J. Stoll will celebrate Mass. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Johnson - Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley. The family will be present from 5-8 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 5:00 p.m. and a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the church.

Mary Elizabeth Feeney was born on July 10, 1922 in Cherokee County, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie and Edith (Thompson) Davis. She graduated from Pierson High School. Following her education, Mary worked for area families as a housekeeper and later as a waitress in the Kingsley-Pierson area.

On January 16, 1946 Mary and Wyman Feeney were united in marriage at St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley. The couple made their home on the Feeney family farm northwest of Kingsley. Mary assisted Wyman with farming along with raising and caring for their children. Wyman passed away in 1979. Mary remained on the farm until moving to Kingsley in 1983. She would later become a resident of the Kingsley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on November 6, 1998.

Mary was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley. She and Wyman enjoyed fishing and traveling, especially to California, Oregon and Washington State. Mary liked feeding and watching birds, baking, making jam and embroidery. She was also a member of TOPS and elected queen in 1981. She participated in the Vintage Vines Red Hat Society at the care center.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Joe Feeney and his wife Bev of Le Mars, IA; a daughter, Kathleen Waldner and her husband Mike of Cherokee, IA; grandchildren, Teresa Nemmers, Tonia Rood, Brian and Kate Feeney, Heather and Joe Ouradnik all of Le Mars, IA, Holly Feeney of Sioux Falls, SD, Michelle and Randy Becker of Faith, SD, Melissa and Mike Mallison of Cherokee, IA, Jeff and Korrie Waldner of Cherokee, IA, Kevin and Susan Feeney of Waukee, IA; great-grandchildren Zack and Collin Nemmers, Amber and Tyler Feeney, Brooke and Jenna Rood, Carson and Allison Feeney, Brady, Connor, Madison and Taylor Ouradnik, Nathan and Kira Hunter, Dakota and Alyssa Becker, Justin, Cody and Brandan Mallison, Kayden, Jack and Kyle Waldner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wyman; a son, Mike in June of 1983; a sister, Esther Denlinger; and three brothers, Duane, Russell and Stanley.
