Marvin Dick John Eilers, 88, of College Station, Texas, and a former Craig area resident, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at College Station. Marvin Dick John Eilers was born June 20, 1916, in Craig, the son of Henry G. and Mary (Pageler) Eilers. He was baptized in the Christian faith on July 16, 1916, at St. John Lutheran Church, Craig, and was confirmed in that congregation on April 13,1930.

Marvin went to work at the age of 13 when he began to drive a truck in his father's trucking business. Initially hauling gravel, Marvin later hauled livestock for area farmers, taking their livestock to markets throughout the Midwest. In 1964, he left the trucking business and was employed by the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis, Minn., where he served as the senior mechanical engineer. He retired in 1980. Marvin married Helen Miller on Nov. 19, 1941, at St. John Lutheran Church in Craig. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters. Married for 63 years, Marvin and Helen moved to College Station in 1980. They were members of Peace Lutheran Church and were very active in Peace's life and ministry.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; three daughters, Patricia Lindner of Azel, Texas, Priscilla Noble and her husband, Richard, of Raleigh, N.C., and Phyllis McLane of Arlington, Texas; a brother, Albert Eilers of Grand Marsh, Wis.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Anna Andresen of Akron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eddie Eilers, and three sons-in-law, David Maloy, Larry Lindner and Michael McLane.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Peace Lutheran Church in College Station, with burial in the College Station City Cemetery.
