Allen Lamb, 50, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa with Reverend Jason Larson officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Wasmer American Legion Post #241 of Le Mars will be at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitations with the family present will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Carlsen Funeral Home on Le Mars.
Pallbearers will be his 3 sons and 3 brothers, A.J. Lamb, Christopher Lamb, Joshua Lamb, Dave Lamb, Mike Lamb, and Jim Landis.
Allen Albert Lamb was born January 13, 1961 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Albert and Carolyn (Cooper) Lamb. Allen attended and graduated from Le Mars Community High School with the Class of 1979. During his senior year of high school, Allen joined the United States Air Force. Allen was united in marriage to Lorrie Uden on September 21, 1979 in Le Mars. The couple had 3 children: A.J., Christopher, and Joshua.
While serving in the Air Force Allen was a Ballistic Missile Analysis technician with the Titan II missiles. He had been stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ, McConnel Air Force Base, Wichita, KS, Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, MS, and Ellsworth Air Force Base, Rapid City, SD. Later in his career, Allen was extremely involved with de-activation of Titan 2 missiles across the country. Allen retired from the Air Force in August of 1999.
The family moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where Allen continued his career in the electronics and computer fields. He had worked for A & B Business, ABC Fire Systems, and Gary Peterson Co. In 2004, he started his own company, ATECHS, doing computer repair, web hosting and design services. While operating his own business, Allen also worked part-time for OPEX as a technician.
Survivors include his 3 sons, A.J. Lamb and his wife Denise of Tuscon, AZ and their son, Justin, Christopher Lamb and Alissa of Sioux Falls, SD and their children Peyton and Taya, and Joshua Lamb and his son Noah of Sioux Falls, SD; 3 brothers: Dave (Laurie) Lamb, Mike Lamb, and Jim (Sarah) Landis all of Le Mars; 3 sisters, Carla (Frank) Campbell of Sac City, IA, Jodi Koopman of Sioux Falls, SD, and Sharon (Ed) Evers of Laurens, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Carolyn Landis and a sister Susan Landis. ©
