Former Le Mars Resident Passes Away in Sioux City.
Mrs. Viola Gillespie, 41, died early Sunday at a hospital in Sioux City after an illness of three months. She had lived in Sioux City twenty-six years.
Mrs. Gillespie was born January 28, 1901, at Le Mars and moved to Sioux City in 1916.
She is survived by her husband, William Gillespie; a daughter and her mother, Mrs. George Doherty, all of Sioux City. - Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, October 20, 1942, page 1, column 2

Note: According to the 1900, U.S. Census, Viola was born in January of 1900, not 1901. Her parents were Albert and Lillian (Mullong) Sneider/Schneider. Lillian's second marriage was to George Doherty.
