Nystrup, Zelpha 1901 - 1973

NYSTRUP, GALLAND, STEKELENBURG

Mrs. Zelpha Nystrup departed this life last Thursday morning, February 22,1973 at the Akron Hospital, following an illness of long duration. She was 71 years of age.

Zelpha Christine Galland was born at Salix, Iowa, September 21, 1901. Her parents were Britton and Cora Galland. At a wedding service in Sioux City on June 14, 1925, she was married to Chris S. Nystrup. They farmed in the Bronson and Climbing Hill, Iowa, areas until 1948 when they moved to a farm south of Akron. There he farmed until the spring of 1957 at which time he retired.

Mrs. Nystrup had a desire to live life to the fullest while God gave her breath and strength She seemed always interested in other people and gave expression to her faith in her maker by giving help to others who needed to be helped and cheered. To those who cared for her she was one who never failed to express her appreciation. She enjoyed the beauty of life and in nature and especially enjoyed traveling where she could come into contact with the outside world.

Among those who survive her departure are: her two sons, Tom Nystrup of Akron and Wayne Stekelenburg of Portland, Oregon; her sister, Mrs. Violet Larson of Sioux City, Iowa; her four brothers, Miles Galland of Salix, Iowa, Byron, Grant and Harold Galland, all of California; her four grandchildren and her one great grandchild,
other relatives and friends. Her husband, Chris preceded her in death in December, 1965.
