12-24-1925Death of Henry Zimmerman
Henry Zimmerman, a well known resident of Plymouth county and a veteran of the civil war, passed away at his home in Fredonia twp., at the age of 88 years. Mr. Zimmerman suffered a stroke of paralysis a short time ago and this together with the complications due to old age, caused his death.Deceased was born in Febling, Aurach, Strackhalt, Hanover, Germany, on Feb. 21 1837 and came to this country with his parents, when a boy. The family settled near Alton, III., in the fall of 1853. Mr. Zimmerman's father died in I860.
Henry Zimmerman enlisted in the civil war and was a member of the 10th Illinois cavalry. At the close of the war he returned to Illinois in 1866 and was united in marriage with Antje Johnson Wilts in Menard county, Ill. In the same year he Joined the Methodist church, of which he was a faithful member ever since. His wife died 12 years ago.
Deceased made his home in late years on the place farmed by his son, Henry Zimmerman, of Fredonia twp.
He is survived by his stepson, John H. Folkers of Litchfield, Ill.; his daughter, Mrs. Charles H. Kleinik, of Greenville, Ill.; and sons R. H. Zimmerman of this city; Henry and his daughter Lizzie, of Fredonia.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the St. Paul's Methodist church, Rev. W. Balling officiating, and burial was made in the city cemetery.

Heinrich Zimmerman died on Sunday afternoon from a paralytic stroke. Mr.
Zimmerman was a pioneer farmer of Elgin township, having lived on his farm
three miles northeast of town for many years.
