The funeral of [Stephen] John Sullivan occurred Wednesday morning, the remains arriving over the I. C. R. R, on the 11:07 morning passenger, and the funeral procession proceeded immediately to the St. Joseph cemetery where the burial took place, Rev. J . P. Barron of the St. James church officiating.

Tho funeral was quite largely attended by the older residents of LeMars with whom he had neighbored for nearly three decades. He was 73 years old at the time of his death and for nearly forty years was in the employ of the I. C. R.R. Co., coming to LeMars from Ackley in 1870, remaining here until 1877, when he was given a position in Sioux City. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss.
