CIVIL WAR VETERANS SUCCUMBS TO OLD AGE
WEDDING HELD

The last member of Bell Post G.A. R., of Kingsley, Perry Strayer passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrews, of Kingsley. He was ill only a short time. He had enjoyed good health until three days previous to his death.

Mr. Strayer was planning a birthday party August 31, when he would be 87 years old. Despite the great handicap of deafness for the major part of his life, he succeeded in farming. He farmed for many years, later devoting much time to travel.

Mr. Strayer was the father of six children; Mrs. Lee Troxwell, Martin, S.D., Mrs. John Currie, Lake City, Iowa, Roy Strayer, Martin and Chester and Harry, Wagner, S.D.
