WITH FIRST IOWA CAVALRY
IN THE SIXTIES
Lorenzo Dean, a resident of Iowa since 1854, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Olllo Navin, in Kingsley, Saturday night, at the ago of 85.The passing of Mr. Dean has again depleted the ranks of Civil war veterans and leaves but three members of the G. A. R. enrolled at Kingsley.
Mr. Dean came to Iowa and Woodbury county in 1845. He moved with his family to Kingsley In 1883 and has since resided there. He served with the First Iowa Cavalry to the end of the Civil war.
He is survived by three daughters:
Mrs. Olllo Navin, of Klngsley, with whom he has made his home since the death of his wife; Mrs. Edith Tallman, of Des Moines, and Mrs. Amy Hicks, of San Antonio, Texas.Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Monday at 2 o'clock p. m. Rev. Paul G. Viehe, pastor of the church officiated. Burial was in the Kingsley cemetery.
