LeMars Semi-Weekly Sentinel
August 13, 1894PEW—At her home on Eagle street at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Maggie S., the wife of Frank Pew, of dysentery, aged 27 years.
Mrs. Pew’s death is particularly sad one from the fact that it occurs within a few days of her first wedding anniversary and that she had but safely come through the perils of childbirth, leaving an infant son six weeks old to grow to manhood’s estate without knowing a mother’s love.
The funeral services took place this morning at 9 o’clock at St. James church, Rev. Father Barron delivering a most touching and eloquent sermon over her remains. Many beautiful floral designs covered the coffin, showing the sympathy and love of the many dear friends who mourn her death. A large concourse of sorrowing friends followed the remains and witnessed their interment in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
