(August 19, 1914 - June 26, 2009)

Marcus, Iowa - Mildred M. Booth, 94, of Marcus, Iowa passed away on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Grace United Methodist Church in Marcus, Iowa. Rev. Gary McDonough will officiate. Burial will follow at Marcus – Amherst Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Earnest-Johnson Funeral Home of Marcus. The family will be present from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled for 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral.

Mildred Marie Rothlisberger was born on August 19, 1914 in Remsen, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Emily (Schultz) Rothlisberger. She attended school in Remsen and graduated from Remsen High School.

On June 23, 1932 Mildred and Forrest E. Booth were united in marriage at Elk Point, South Dakota. They made their home in Marcus, Iowa. After their children were raised, Mildred worked at the Gambles store. She and Forrest later moved to a farm near Marcus. After farming for many years, they retired and moved back into town. Forrest passed away on June 11, 1983.

Mildred was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She participated in circle and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of a local hobby club and enjoyed gardening and canning, knitting and quilting. She has been a resident at the Heartland Care Center in Marcus for the past three years.

Mildred will be lovingly remembered by a daughter Carole Mc Queen and her husband Kenneth of Omaha, NE; a son Richard Booth and his wife Mary Beth of Davenport, IA; two grandchildren Scott Mc Queen of Ft. Dodge, IA and Todd Mc Queen and his wife Barb of Omaha, NE; four great-grandchildren Amy Mc Queen and her fiancé Chris Hruska, Thomas Mc Queen, Riley and Forrest Mc Queen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Forrest; and a brother Harold.
