The death of Mrs. Fred L. Stevens, of this place, came Friday night by that dreaded disease dropsy. She has been failing the past year or two, but the last few months it grew worse until she was finally released from her suffering by death. The best of doctors care was given her at all times but nothing seemed to help her.

Mrs. Stevens was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Luft and has made her home here for the past fifteen years. She leaves two children, a daughter, Mr. A Olson, and son Roy, besides her husband to mourn her untimely death

The funeral was held on Sunday at the U. E. church, conducted by the former pastor, Rev. Oursler, and interment made in the Melbourne Cemetery. The pall bearers were D. H. Hauff: W. G Pearson, Mike Peters, W. H. Loraditch , Wm. Pape and John Casper.
