KINGSLEY, IOWA: EDWIN “ED” G. MEISTER, 77, of Kingsley, died peacefully with his family present, Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at his residence after a short battle with leukemia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2007, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kingsley, Iowa, with Rev. Thomas J. Topf officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation begins after 2:00 p.m. Friday, with a rosary being said at 4:00 p.m., and the family present 5:00 -7:00 p.m. and a wake scripture service at 7:00 p.m. all at the Rohde ~ Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.

Ed was born February 8, 1929, in rural Kingsley, Iowa, the son of George and Hannah (Kimm) Meister. He grew up in the Kingsley area graduating from Kingsley High School in 1947. On July 1, 1964 he married Janice (Jan) Nelson. After they were married they lived on their farm north of Kingsley until retiring in 1993. After his retirement, Ed and Jan moved to Kingsley.

Ed was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and enjoyed woodworking when he was not busy farming. He was very dedicated to his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Jan of Kingsley, Iowa, three daughters, Debbie Richardson and her husband, Mark of Lawton, Iowa, and Pam Dugan and her husband, Dave of Kingsley, Iowa, and Candace Avilla, two sons, Ron Meister and his wife, Denyse of Kingsley, Iowa, and Jerry Meister and his wife, Cindy of Geneva, Illinois, one sister, Dorothy Robinson of Kingsley, Iowa. Also, eleven grandchildren, Sean, Chad, Matt and Morgan Richardson, Megan and Brent Meister, Katarina, Brianna and Makayla Meister, Denae Bauer and Trey Dugan, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Dennis and one daughter, Claudia, two sisters, Irene Macklin and Marjorie Rediske, also three brothers-in-law, Cecil Robinson, Herbert Rediske and William Macklin,
