Stanton Township Home Bereft of Wife and Mother

Mrs. Wm. Schuman died Sunday afternoon at her home in Stanton Township after a protracted illness with Bright's disease. Her friends knew her condition was serious, but she seemed to be progressing as favorably as they could possibly expect until she was suddenly taken worse the day of her death.

Elizabeth Held was a daughter of Erhard Held, one of the pioneer setters of Plymouth county, who died last Thursday and was buried the day before his daughter passed away.

She was born in Hungerford Township, January 11, 1882, and lived in that neighborhood until September 26, 1900, when she was married to Wm. Schuman, and with him established the home in Stanton Township where they have since resided.

Three children survive with the father to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. They are John, aged eleven, Lawrence, five, and an infant daughter born January 31st.

Late last summer Mrs. Schuman developed Bright's disease, and her friends knew her condition was serious, but hoped a vigorous constitution might help her to withstand the disease. The best of care and medical attention were unavailing however, and last Sunday the young wife and mother was called to her heavenly home.

The sincerest sympathy of the entire community goes out to the stricken family.

The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Melbourne United Evangelical church and interment will be made in Melbourne Cemetery.
