Mrs. Leo Dye
Mrs. Leo (Roma) Dye,80,Sioux City,a long-time Sioux City resident, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 1, in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
The former Roma Speelmon, she was born Nov. 18, 1888, in Cherokee. She and Leo McDonald were married in 1907 in Cherokee and moved to Sioux City in 1910.
Mr. McDonald died in 1937. She married Mr. Dye in 1948 in Dakota City.
He died in 1964. Mrs. Dye was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. P. A. (Minnetta) Prager, Mrs. Ray (Fidelis) Cooper, and Mrs. H. C. (Mary Frances) Welch, all of Santa Ana, Calif., and Mrs. Ronald (Deloras) Schindel of Merrill; a step-daughter, Mrs. Elaine Ward of Sioux City; two sons, Robert McDonald of Orange, Calif., and Philip McDonald of Sioux City; a brother, Bert Speelman of Cherokee; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at St. Michael church. Rev. Nicholas Ruba officiated. Burial was in Melbourne Cemetery near Merrill.
