William H. Seggerman
(March 3, 1927 - November 2, 2008)Marcus, Iowa – William H. Seggerman, 81, formerly of Marcus, Iowa passed away on November 2, 2008 in Marshalltown, Iowa. A Graveside Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. James Gruber of Peace Lutheran Church in Marcus will officiate. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow at Peace Lutheran Church in Marcus. The Earnest – Johnson Funeral Home of Marcus is in charge of arrangements.
Bill was born March 3, 1927, in Remsen, Iowa, the son of Harm and Grace (Leutjen) Seggerman. He attended school in the area of his birth and went on to attend two years at Los Angeles City College. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
On Oct. 7, 1950, he married Geraldine June Klumpp in Storm Lake, Iowa. He formerly lived in Marcus, Sheldon and Storm Lake, Iowa. He had lived at the Iowa Veterans Home since 1999. He was employed with Illinois Central Railroad for more than nine years. He was then employed at Marcus Oil until 1982 and Cherokee (Iowa) County until he was injured in 1982.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Seggerman Iversen and her husband Jeff Iversen of Morrison, Colorado.; a grandson, Marcus Iversen of Denver, Colorado.and his sister, Betty Johnson of Archer, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 12 siblings, and his wife who died in February 1978.
