GUSTAV A. FRISKE IS SUMMONED
Gustav A. Friske, a well known resident of Plymouth county, passed away at his home east of Akron on Thursday, April 23, 1931, at the age of 62 years, 1 month and 17 days. He had been in poor health for several months and was taken suddenly ill the previous Sunday. The end came peacefully at 6 o'clock last Thursday afternoon.
Gustav August Friske was born the 6th of March 1869, in Germany, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Friedrick Friske. His father passed away in his early life, when Mr. Friske stepped into his parent's place and helped support the family of two sisters and a brother. After serving three years in the German army, he came with his mother and two sisters to America in 1901, settling in Plymouth County, Iowa, in the vicinity of Kingsley, where he lived for forty years. In June, 1904, he was united in marriage
with Anna. Roloff, also of Germany, and to this union six children were born; Mrs. Anton Scheld, of Sioux City; Mary, Paul, Arthur, Mabel and Edna Friske, at home.Besides his wife and children, he is survived by a brother, William Friske, of Ireton, la.; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Woldt, of Kingsley, Ia.., and a little grandson. One sister, Mrs. Amelia Buck, of Hinton, Ia., preceded him in, death in 1908. Mr. Friske was a kind and loving father, a helpful neighbor and friend and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.

We miss thee everywhere.Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock hi the home and at 2 o'clock in the English Lutheran church in Akron, conducted by Rev. C. W. Samuelson. Interment was in the cemetery at Kingsley, Iowa.
