FORMER AKRON RESIDENT DIES IN ST. PAUL, MINN.
The body of William Friske, a former resident of Akron, was brought here for burial Tuesday from St. Paul, Minn., where he passed away on Saturday, July 12, 1947, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Boden, following a brief illness from a stroke, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 3 days.
William Friske, the son of Frederich and Caroline Friske, was born in Germany on November 9, 1863, and came to the United States in his youth. He was married here and his wife preceded him in death while they were living on a farm near Akron, on November 18, 1914. An infant son also preceded his parents in death.
Mr. Friske moved from here to Minnesota about twenty years ago and has been living with his daughter in St. Paul.
Surviving him are five daughters and one son—Mrs. Lydia Boden, of St. Paul, Minn.; Ed. Friske, of Vernon Center, Minn.; Mrs. Ina Holtry, of Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Ethel Huls, of Lake Crystal, Minn.; Mrs. Frances Phillips, of Merrill, Iowa, and Mrs. Sylvia Warner, of St. Paul Minn.; also, by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Rossow Funeral-Home, conducted by Rev. A. A. Howe, pastor of the Methodist Church. Dorothy Behmer sung, with piano accompaniment by Norma Lee Rossow. Interment was beside his wife in Riverside Cemetery.
Several of the children of Mr. Friske came to attend the funeral and burial services.
