Elise Petersen
Funeral for Mrs. Niels (Elise) Petersen, 57, Le Mars, lifelong Plymouth County resident, were held at 1 pm. Monday at St. John's American Lutheran Church, Le Mars, Pastor Thomas Lee officiated and burial was in the Remsen City Memorial Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home, Remsen.
Visitation was Sunday at the Luedkke-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars with a prayer service at 7:30 pm.
Mrs. Petersen died Friday (March 22,1985) at Plymouth Manor Care Center where she had lived the last eight years.
The former Elise Nielsiene Kloster, she was born Nov. 13, 1897, at Oyens to Thorvald and Sophia Nielsen Kloster. She married Niels F. Petersen Nov. 28, 1916, at the Danish Lutheran Church, Oyens. Mr. Petersen died in August 1957.
Survivors are her daughter. Mrs. William (Evalyn) Sievers, Le Mars; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alvin (Helen) Petersen, Woodbine; grandchildren, Aline and Jerry Bruck, Defiance, Iowa, and James and Shirley Sievers, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and four great-grandchildren; two sisters. Mrs. Herlig Petersen and Mrs. Charlotte Andersen, both of Le Mars; three brothers, Jens Kloster of Le Mars. Nis Kloster of Correctionville and Niels Kloster, Remsen. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Fern, and a son, Alvin.
