Louis Labahn Heart Victim While Haying
Prominent Parmer Of Merrill Vicinity Stricken And Expires In Few Minutes
Overcome by heat which caused a heart attack, L. H. Labahn, 49, expired unexpectedly while at work in the hayfield at his farm home near Merrill Saturday morning, July 2.
Louis Hermann Labahn was a member of well known pioneer family of Liberty Township and was born November 2, 1888.
He attended the rural school in Johnson Township and was confirmed in the Johnson Lutheran Church.
He was married to Miss Bessie L. King of Merrill February 16, 1910, and eight children were born to them. A daughter, Evelyn Ruth died in 1920.

Mr. and Mrs. Labahn moved to Lucas, S. D., in 1920 and lived there 17 years, returning to live with his brother, Fred Labahn, a short time ago.Mr. Labahn leaves to mourn his death, his wife, Bessie, four daughters, Eunice Buryanek, Gladys Carlson of Lucas, S. D., Betty Lou and Mary Jane, three sons, Vernon, Vergil and Ronald, two sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law, five grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Clara Attrill, four brothers William, Fred, Ed and Alfred Labahn all of Merrill. Two brothers and sister preceded him in death.
Louis Labahn was widely known in the community and esteemed as a good man and neighbor.
The funeral will be held this afternoon at the United Brethren Church at Adaville. Six nephews will carry the body to the grave.
