Alvin L. Oaks, 73, died Sunday morning (Nov. 29,1981) at the Akron Hospital after an apparent heart attack.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Schroeder funeral home in Akron, The Rev. Harold Sieglaff officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Adaville. Military graveside services were held by Hoschler American Legion post of Akron.

Pallbearers were Wayne Burns, Marvin Kroksh, Lome Ross, Neil McLane, Jim Martin, Lou Conway and Lovay Lamoureux.

Mr. Oaks was born Aug. 13, 1908, in Plymouth County, Iowa. He worked for the Milwaukee Road railroad for 45 years, living in South Dakota at Corsica and Avon, before moving to Akron in 1971. He was a veteran of the U.S. army, serving from 1942-45.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Waterbury of Akron and Mrs. B. C. (Florence) Boyd of Yankton, S.D
