This community was greatly shocked last Friday morning to hear a of the sudden death of Mrs. Melvin Moffatt, of Westfield. Mrs. Moffatt, who had been in her usual health, was found unconscious on the floor of her home by her husband when he came home from his business Thursday evening.

She expired without regaining consciousness. Hemorrhage of the brain was given as the immediate cause of her death.

As Bertha Vanderburg. Mrs. Moffat had lived in the Milnerville neighborhood many years before her marriage and was greatly beloved by all who knew her. Hers was truly a beautiful soul and many friends are left behind to mourn with the bereaved husband and sorrowing parents.

The funeral was to have been held Sunday but the inclement weather made is impossible to reach the cemetery so it was postponed until Monday. Interment was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Adaville.
