Ira L. Pearson, Pioneer Resident Of Hinton Dies Of Heart Attack
Ira L. Pearson, long time Plymouth County resident died Tuesday afternoon after suffering a heart attack in a cab in which he was riding. Pearson had been in poor health for some time and was taken ill at the office of the Gaynor-Bagstad Company. A cab was called and he was assisted to it but died before he reached the Milner hotel where he lived.
Mr. Pearson came to Plymouth County with his parents in 1870, when he was 10 years old, and they settled near Hinton where he spent much of his life. From 1930 to 1944, tie lived at Bengough, Sask., Canada, and when he returned to this community located in Sioux City. He lived for a time with a niece, Mrs. Francis McInerney, in Sioux City and more recently at a hotel.
A sister, Mrs. Hattie Gensen of Bengough, Sask., survives him.
Mr. Pearson was one of theSentinel's oldest readers, his parents subscribing for the Sentinel shortly after their arrival here and Mr. Pearson continuing a subscriber until his death.
Funeral services for Mr. Pearson were held Thursday afternoon, with Rev. John Gillesse of the First Presbyterian church officiating and burial was in Adaville Cemetery.
