A large crowd of sympathizing neighbors and friends attended the funeral of George Hawkins at the Pleasant Valley Church at Adaville on Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Hawkins was a quiet and unassuming man, who attended to his own affairs and consequently made a good neighbor. He had not been well for some time past, having had two previous light strokes of paralysis, but the end came very quickly and unexpectedly and was a great shock to his family and the entire neighborhood.

The pallbearers were six nephews, young men from the Kingsley locality, where many of Mr. Hawkins' relatives reside.

Interment was in the Pleasant Valley cemetery.

He leaves a wife and four children in his immediate family to mourn his loss. Two sons, one married and living on. an adjoining farm, the other a boy at home, and two daughters, both successful teachers, make up the family
